1970s orange mobile home

1974 just called. They want their carpeting back! :D

These are pictures of an old, crappy mobile home that I cleaned for my former landlord a couple years ago. It was in really bad shape, and still had a lot of the old decor from when it was built. Everything was ORANGE! It might have been cool if it were all modern stuff, but it had been there for decades and definitely was showing its age. The landlord said he was going to remove the shag carpeting, as it was threadbare and smelled bad.

I hope he kept the kitchen counters and blinds, though--they were the only things that looked to be in decent shape, and someone could probably work with them by adding more neutral tones to counteract the blaze of orange. But that wallpaper just HAS to go!

i think it looks awesome =D 70s interior design is so under appreciated. wooden paneling was kickass, harvest gold and avocado green toilets/sinks/bathtubs were cool, weird colored shag carpet is awesome, linoleum and vinyl kitchen/bathroom floors were so amazingly trippy (the house i grew up in had old 70s flooring, i used to stare at the kitchen floor and try to imagine motion to the intricate patterns there :XD:) and wall paper is always nice, extra points for floral wallpaper =D

its a shame the carpet was bad though, is the only time i have to side with realtors on "modernizing" (which is a dirty word in my book) cuz yeah...carpet rots and such, not good to have if the padding is worn away or its starting to smell >.<
