How to Make a Tardis Christmas Ornament pt. 3

Step 5: For this step, you will have to quarter the top half of the ball. A pair of calipers is very handy for finding the exact center, or as close to it as possible, anyway. Then criss-cross two pieces of blue ribbon over the top, as shown. On top of the blue ribbon, carefully glue a narrower black ribbon. Once it was all dry, I stuck a wire in the top to mark where the hanger will go.

Step 6: I am REALLY REALLY sorry that I didn't make a tutorial on how to make the Tardis' light thingy! Here is a brief description: I used Fimo polymer clay in dark blue and glow-in-the-dark. I first made a small cylinder of the glowy clay as the center; then made two circles of blue clay for the top and bottom, slightly bigger around than the cylinder. A smaller blue circle is on the top for added detail. I then applied four thin pieces around the cylinder, and very carefully made a hole through the middle for the hanger. I'm not completely happy with how it looks, but I was in a bit of a hurry. Next time, I'll think of a better way to make one.

Step 7: Once the light was baked and cooled, I inserted a wire almost all the way through the ball (so it will hold really well), stuck the light onto the wire, added a bead for a bit of sparkle, and made a spiral loop at the top.
